Re: A thelemic view of consciousness
Yeah, which is fine either way so long as each version can be explained clearly. The Magician generally prefers to view themselves in an active and deliberate position, all the language and ideas tend to focus on deliberate craft and craftsmanship. Ironically, this is at times coupled with more passive language regarding "rules" or "laws" which govern these beliefs or concepts.

If we consider them being complementary, we might find new ways of explanation.

Yes, totally, I look forward to more detail from you regarding this whenever possible!

Re: A thelemic view of consciousness
how is one to realize oneself through the images of others, if ones does not know one’s own?
I would argue that what we call ones own is first an embodiment from without which we ingest and transform into our own.
Yes, it is a foolish statement :huh: is there a way to erase it?
Thanks Brothers! (i erased the misleading statement)
Serious work requires quality control.
Re: A thelemic view of consciousness
I don't see anything you wrote as at all misleading. Kudos to you however for being willing to evolve your ideas though.

The reason I brought up these "hit pieces" was not to just gossip and defame these beloved authors, but for this reason:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consciousness
Consciousness is a construct that was strongly developed during the period which also was the background of these three authors and what they produced and the influence of what they produced on the way that people interpret reality and their own thoughts and their understanding and narrative about their place in reality.
In other words, consciousness could be said to be a "White Construct" imagined to be more exclusive or particular to "White People", even more crazily, there have been reports of "Out Of Body Experiences" and certain kinds of "Soul Travel" stories being more commonly coming from "White People" with a certain kind of upbringing possibly influencing their ideas about what is even possible, and other people who "racism" is scoffed at, may have really mainly thought of the white people, who were an even smaller category in the past and excluded many others now thought of as also white, as being much more capable of consciousness or this "noble work regarding the soul".
https://www.reddit.com/r/evolution/comm ... ciousness/
Racial thinking and the ideas of humans distinguished from animals and theories of consciousness and even nationalism, eugenics, progress, modernism, futurism, xenophobia, and g*noc*de all play a role in and are intertwined with the development of modern ideas about consciousness, especially around the time that Aleister Crowley may have been writing on or around the subject. Even interpretations of writings from the Muslims, Indians, Gnostics, Zoroastrians, Ancient Greeks and Romans, and Ancient Egyptians, also the Chinese more separated from any more closely related continuum but impacted potentially by the more "Eastern" components in that list, were particularly Anglicized and not necessarily authentically being interpreted, reconstructed or used by much later authors in the past and then in much more modern times.
What we may be dealing with is a unique entity, White Consciousness, something that was not believed to be possessed or approachable to non-whites and which was developed by them, and then even insisted upon by them and imposed upon people as the only way to interpret reality abd "ascend" to being much more like the dominant race at the time, so Imperialism and Jingoism is all an undercurrent in there too.
It could be that there really is such a thing, and that it really can only exist with some people brought up or even hardwired differently, and it isn't necessarily good or worthy or useful, and it could be, as it is most likely, a bullsh*t fantasy and fabrication that has almost entirely consumed a people as a subtle and undeniable dogma that has grafted itself upon their eyes in such a way that it would be like trying to deny that the sky is what is called blue for the people who have swallowed whole these notions, including the colonized and those on the "Stairway To Heaven" of this particularly authoritatively recognized regimen for understanding and supposed success and wholeness.
This suggestion that a grasp of such a thing may be needed to improve one's quality and experience could even indicate a Satanic origin, in the Islamic sense, since Satan's scheme as depicted in the Qur'an was to strip the naive human first, suggesting a lack is present, and then offering ways to fix the problem they just made up, for the purpose of leading the person into harm.
So not even the way that any of us now think about thinking may have been shared by past people who are sometimes resurrected for the purpose of claiming that they too recognized what we only now are having claimed, and that this new narrative is being wholly adopted and absorbed by people as a practically super-religious truth that goes beyond anything people may have doubts about, and it is itself influencing the wah we are interpreting things by closing off so many options which it would make out to be absurd, thus acting as a "gatekeeping" filter, perhaps as a way to maintain order and continue to act as a "White Savior":

Am I able to conquer defunct threads that no longer are being visited by their old owners? Otherwise I may have to make my own versions so that I don't end up spamming these long dead threads, but there are many derelict temples of certain themes I wouldn't mind being the "boss" of by having the first post in them and thus being able to control the title and keep using them for my own explorations, like the new head of the Academy, which is the thread.

Nuit is infinite expansion (space , matter)
Hadit is infinite contraction (time , motion)
Ra hoor khuit is the interplay of these 2 infinite principles and the active form of the twin god horus known as Heru ra ha
Hoor - pa - kraat is the passive form of horus,
Aiwass is the minister of hoor pa kraat and the voice of the book of the law and crowleys personal HGA
Therion is both the title crowley adopted as magus and the name of the terrestrial manifestation and extension of hadit, it is the title of the office of the beast
Babalon is the counterpart and is the extension of Nuit in manifest form as she is also identified as the scarlet woman
the symbolism of the hierophantic staff in https://hermetic.com/crowley/libers/lib5 ritual explains this basic pantheon
as others have mentioned the LBPR is traditionally a golden dawn ritual with archangels in each quarter the replacement with thelemic names is part of crowleys revision of old aeon rituals and is named the star ruby
also on a personal note i found in my own qabalistic studies
I made a painting/illustration that was a vision i saw as a reflection of my own pentacle and motto, it was a vision of the mark of the beast. After adding up the symbolism with gematria to match 666 as well as the value as my own motto, I broke down the spelling further where each letter is spelt in full twice
This gave me a value of 6084 which is 78 squared and has a common denominator of every active name on the hierophantic staff as well as my own personal number
78 = aiwass (78 squared)
666 = therion (from the original value)
468 = ra hoor khuit (468 x 13)
156 = babalon (156 x 39)
169 the base of my own motto (169 x 36)
which i just think is neat

Crowley accepted Henri Poincaré’s view that space and time have no objective validity but serve as mere conventions for the practice of physics. They do not give us genuine insight into the true nature of the external world. Rather, they are forms of perception chosen by natural selection for their usefulness. Thus in “Notes for an Astral Atlas,” Crowley quotes Poincaré discussing the relationship of geometry and evolution:
“On veut dire que par sélection naturelle notre esprit s’est adapté aux conditions du monde extérieur, qu’il a adopté la géométrie la plus avantageuse a l’espèce; ou en d’autres termes la plus commode. Cela est conforme tout a fait a nos conclusions; la géométrie n’est pas vraie: elle est avantageuse.”
Henri Poincaré, “La Science et l’Hypothèse,” quoted in Crowley, “Notes for an Astral Atlas”
Paraphrasing Poincaré’s conclusion, Crowley says:
Time and Space are forms by which we obtain (distorted) images of Ideas. Our measures of Time and Space are crude conventions, and differ widely for different Beings.
“Notes for an Astral Atlas”
He leverages this conclusion to support what he sees as an axiom of magick: the possible existence of conscious entities that are not dependent upon human-like brains.
“Hence: no a priori reason to deny the existence of conscious intelligences with insensible bodies. Indeed we know of other orders of mind (flies, etc., possibly vegetables) thinking by means of non-human brain-structures.”
