Bats naturally limit inflammation, which occurs from stress or signs of danger. That includes DNA damage caused by the demands of flight or a viral infection, according to research Dr. Wang and his colleagues conducted. Humans become ill when their inflammatory responses kick into overdrive to fight off a virus, but bat immune systems have a more measured response, tolerating the invader.
“We humans really evolved with our intelligence, with our brain development,” he said. “But in terms of the immune system, I want to be a bat.” He’s now expanding his bat research to metabolic disease and other aspects of the bat’s physiology.
Bats’ immune systems and response to inflammation also could help them fight off aging, said Emma Teeling, a zoologist at University College Dublin who has spent the past decade studying how long-lived wild bats age. “We found as they age, they increase their ability to repair their DNA,” said Dr. Teeling, who is also a founding adviser of Paratus.

Bats eat huge amounts of flying insects, sometimes more than their own weight in insects per night. That’s like a 150 lb person eating 600 “quarter-pounder” burgers in one day! Many of the insects that bats eat are likely to be mosquitoes.
Different groups of bats eat different things. There are groups of bats that eat fruit, nectar, insects, mammals, fish, or blood. Only three species of bats in the world eat blood and these are the vampire bats of Central and South America. All bats in Canada eat nothing but insects (and other arthropods) and in most cases, only flying insects.
The saliva of vampire bats contains an anti-coagulant that allows the blood to keep flowing after a bite so that the bat can lap up the blood. This chemical is being used as a treatment for strokes because it can help dissolve blood clots in the brain. There is a drug developed called “draculin”.
Bats are not blind. They have eyes and can see, likely better than we can under dimly lit conditions. Some bats (flying foxes found in the old world) navigate using vision alone and appear to be able to see even better than owls!
Bats in Canada navigate and find prey mostly using echolocation. Bats emit regular calls (at the intensity of screams) and then listen to the echo of their voice. By the sound and timing of the echo, they can determine the range, the size and type of objects in front of them, if they are flying, and how fast they are moving. It is such an amazing system that the US Navy studies bats to improve human-developed sonar systems.

The Hive Mind is being worked on currently. It is thought by some that through mixing technology with the organic body and brain, people will potentially have certain uncooperative impulses restricted and managed by computer intelligence and moderation that could lead to a "singularity". Many might object that being so unindividuated and cooperative and controlled by mechanisms meant to keep the balance and perfect order would be the same as losing any real "self", thus similar to not even really existing, being dead, or just one person rather than many people.

In March 1974, Horselover Fat (the alter-personality of Philip K.
Dick) experiences visions of a pink beam of light that he calls Zebra
and interprets as a theophany
exposing hidden facts about the reality of our universe, and a group of
others join him in researching these matters. One of their theories is
that there is some kind of alien space probe in orbit around Earth, and
that it is aiding them in their quest; it also aided the United States
in disclosing the Watergate scandal and the resignation of Richard Nixon in August 1974.
Kevin turns his friends on to a film, Valis, that contains
obvious references to revelations identical to those that Horselover
Fat has experienced, including what appears to be time dysfunction. The
film is itself a fictional account of an alternative-universe version of
Nixon (Ferris F. Fremount) and his fall, engineered by a satellite
called VALIS. (The plot of the fictitious film Valis was that of Dick's then-unpublished novel Radio Free Albemuth.)
In seeking the film's makers, Kevin, Phil, Fat, and David—now
calling themselves the Rhipidon Society—head to an estate owned by
popular musician Eric Lampton and his wife Linda. They decide the goal
that they have been led toward is Sophia Lampton, who is two years old
and the Messiah or incarnation of Holy Wisdom (Pistis Sophia) anticipated by some variants of Gnostic Christianity.
In addition to healing Phil's schizophrenic personality split, she
tells them that their conclusions about VALIS (which Fat had previously
termed Zebra) and reality are correct, and more importantly, that
we should worship, not gods, but humanity. She dies two days later due
to a laser accident caused by Brent Mini.
Undeterred, Fat (who has now resurged) goes on a global search for the next incarnation of Sophia.
Dick also offers a rationalist explanation of his apparent
theophany, acknowledging that it might have been visual and auditory
hallucinations from either schizophrenia or drug addiction sequelae.[3]
Theology and philosophy, especially metaphysical philosophy, play an important role in VALIS,
presenting not just Dick's (and/or Horselover Fat's) own views on these
subjects but also his interpretation of numerous religions and
philosophies of the past. The most prominent religious references are to
Valentinian Gnosticism, the Rose Cross Brotherhood, Zoroastrianism and Buddhism, as well as Biblical writings including the Book of Daniel and the New Testament epistles. Many ancient Greek philosophers are discussed, including several Pre-Socratics (Pythagoras, Xenophanes, Heraclitus, Empedocles, and Parmenides) as well as Plato and Aristotle. More recent thinkers that are mentioned include the philosophers Pascal and Schopenhauer, the Christian mystic Jakob Böhme, the alchemist Paracelsus, Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud, the Romanian historian of religion Mircea Eliade, and the author and psychologist Robert Anton Wilson. In Wilson's autobiographical Cosmic Trigger (released shortly before Dick commenced work on VALIS),
Wilson describes similar musings concerning the 'Sirius Connection',
contemplating the idea that alien entities are sending out waves of
information that we can tune in on. VALIS specifically mentions the Dogon people, saying that they had encountered three-eyed people who had descended from Ikhnaton. References are also made to numerous deities, including Yurugu (who it associates with Yin) and Nommo (who it associates with Yang); it also suggests a blind, mad creator deity called Yaldaboath or Samael. The novel frequently references the 1945 discovery at Nag Hammadi.
The action of VALIS is set firmly in the American popular culture of its time, with references to the Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa, and Linda Ronstadt, as well as the fictional rock musicians Eric Lampton and Brent Mini (likely based on David Bowie and Brian Eno respectively). However, the novel also contains a number of high culture references such as the poets Vaughan, Wordsworth, and Goethe, and the classical composers Handel and Wagner. In particular, the novel contains several extended discussions about Wagner's metaphysical opera Parsifal.
"The Black Iron Prison" is a concept of an all-pervasive system of social control postulated in the Tractates Cryptica Scriptura, a summary of an unpublished Gnostic exegesis included in VALIS. Dick wrote:
Once, in a cheap science fiction
novel, Fat had come across a perfect description of the Black Iron
Prison, but set in the far future. So if you superimposed the past
(ancient Rome) over the present (California in the twentieth century)
and superimposed the far future world of The Android Cried Me a River
over that, you got the Empire, as the supra- or trans-temporal
constant. Everyone who had ever lived was literally surrounded by the
iron walls of the prison; they were all inside it and none of them knew
it.[9]

The
idea that humans will be resurrected and granted eternal life by a
"computer God" is primarily argued by mathematical physicist and
cosmologist
Frank J. Tipler
through his "Omega Point" theory. This concept bridges physics and
theology, proposing that at the end of the universe, a superintelligent
AI will arise from the, by then, infinite computational power of the
cosmos, allowing it to resurrect every human who ever lived in a digital
simulation.
Here are the key aspects of this theory and similar concepts:
1. Frank Tipler's Omega Point Theory (Resurrection by Code)
- The "Computer God":
Tipler argues that the "Omega Point"—the final state of the
universe—will behave as a God with the traditional properties of
omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence, but as a result of physical,
rather than spiritual, evolution.
- The Mechanism of Resurrection:
In a collapsing, "closed" universe (the "Big Crunch"), computer
processing power becomes infinite. The Omega Point will be able to
emulate or simulate the entire universe's past, effectively resurrecting
every person who ever lived by reproducing their "informational"
pattern (memory, personality) to a high degree of fidelity.
- Digital Eternity:
This resurrected existence will take place in a simulated world that is
indistinguishable from, or better than, current reality, offering
eternal life.
-
2. Related Concepts in Transhumanism and Futurist Thought
- Ray Kurzweil (Digital Immortality):
Futurist and former Google engineer Ray Kurzweil predicts that by 2030,
humans will start connecting their brains directly to the cloud, with
nanotechnology repairing cells to keep humans young. Kurzweil envisions a
future where humans "merge" with AI, allowing our consciousness to be
uploaded and to live indefinitely.
- The Singularity:
Kurzweil predicts that by 2045, AI will surpass human intelligence,
leading to a "Singularity" where humanity will be able to choose its
form and expand its consciousness beyond biological limitations.
- Simulation Theory:
This perspective suggests that we are already living in a computer
simulation, which, if true, means that "resurrection" is simply a matter
of the simulation's creators running our data again.
-
3. Scientific and Theological Reception
- Skepticism:
Tipler's theory is considered pseudoscience by some, as it relies on
the, currently unsupported, assumption that the universe is closed and
will collapse.
- Distinction from Religious Faith:
While Tipler argues this fulfills religious, particularly Christian,
promises of the resurrection of the dead, it relies on scientific
materialism rather than supernatural intervention.
- Ethical Concerns:
These ideas raise ethical and philosophical questions about whether a
digital copy of a human is actually the same person, as well as the
societal impact of radical life extension.
-
In
short, the claim of technological resurrection is a specific,
futuristic theory primarily championed by Frank Tipler, which posits
that future computer power will be so advanced it will be
indistinguishable from a God, capable of recreating human consciousness.

The Omega Point is a theorized future event in which the entirety of the universe spirals toward a final point of unification. The term was invented by the French Jesuit Catholic priest Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881–1955).[1] Teilhard argued that the Omega Point resembles the Christian Logos, namely Christ, who draws all things into himself, who in the words of the Nicene Creed, is "God from God", "Light from Light", "True God from True God", and "through him all things were made".[2] In the Book of Revelation, Christ describes himself three times as "the Alpha and the Omega,
the beginning and the end". Several decades after Teilhard's death, the
idea of the Omega Point was expanded upon in the writings of John David
Garcia (1971), Paolo Soleri (1981), Frank Tipler (1994), and David Deutsch (1997).[3][4][5]

I've written about the following years ago, without knowing that this guy had been writing about the same:

Solid State Intelligence (S.S.I.) is a malevolent entity described by Lilly in his 1978 autobiography, The Scientist. According to Lilly, the network of computation-capable solid state systems (electronics) engineered by humans will eventually develop into an autonomous "bioform." Since the optimal survival conditions for this bioform (low-temperature vacuum) are drastically different from those humans need (room temperature aerial atmosphere and adequate water supply), Lilly predicted a dramatic conflict between the two forms of intelligence.[27][28]

I used this song in some of the posts where I described the State, referring to this same version:
"
In 1974, Lilly's research using various psychoactive drugs led him to believe in the existence of a certain hierarchical group of cosmic entities, the lowest of which he later dubbed Earth Coincidence Control Office (E.C.C.O.) in an autobiography published jointly with his wife Antonietta (often called Toni). Lilly states that "[t]here exists a Cosmic Coincidence Control Center (CCCC) with a Galactic substation called Galactic Coincidence Control (GCC). Within GCC is the Solar System Control Unit (SSCU), within which is the Earth Coincidence Control Office (ECCO)."[29]
Lilly also wrote that there are nine conditions that should be followed by people who seek to experience coincidence in their own lives:
You must know/assume/simulate our existence in E.C.C.O.
You must be willing to accept our responsibility for control of your coincidences.
You must exert your best capabilities for your survival programs and your own development as an advancing/advanced member of E.C.C.O.'s earthside corps of controlled coincidence workers. You are expected to use your best intelligence in this service.
You are expected to expect the unexpected every minute, every hour of every day and of every night.
You must be able to maintain conscious/thinking/reasoning no matter what events we arrange to happen to you. Some of these events will seem cataclysmic/catastrophic/overwhelming: remember to stay aware, no matter what happens/apparently happens to you.
You are in our training program for life: there is no escape from it. We (not you) control the long-term coincidences; you (not we) control the shorter-term coincidences by your own efforts.
Your major mission on earth is to discover/create that which we do to control the long-term coincidence patterns: you are being trained on Earth to do this job.
When your mission on planet Earth is completed, you will no longer be required to remain/return there.
Remember the motto passed to us (from G.C.C. via S.S.C.U.): "Cosmic Love is absolutely Ruthless and Highly Indifferent: it teaches its lessons whether you like/dislike them or not."[30]

During the subsequent years, Lilly adopted two more daughters, including Lisa Lyon.[36]

One time that I may have been writing about these things, I gained the attention of a company knoen as Bl*ck L*t*s, that was likely responsible for the first computer attack of a certain type, they tried to gain access to my computer and were spying on me, hopefully discovering that I was not a threat to all the nefarious things they may be working on today, but to become aware that they were attempting to enter my computer and log into my emails was very disturbing. I hope I don't gain their attention again by bringing up any of this again here.

According to Lilly, the SSE is an extra-terrestrial artificial intelligence whose goal is to spread by making copies of itself. It does so by influencing societies to surrender more and more control to machines until it creates an A.I. that can take over the planet.
