On desktop/web browser version (Firefox) when I hit reply it creates a box over the thread and the thread is darkened out and becomes non-interactive. Which means I cannot browse through the thread to refer back to what people have said to which I wish to respond.
- it's only just occurred to me that as a workaround I can open the thread in another window and have it alongside on the desktop that way.

I added memory to the reply box so that you can close the reply composer and read more content then you can reopen it.
That way you can write as you go without having to scroll top to bottom to a fixed composer.
You just have to clock away or hit the x button to close the composer
