The most basic of questions that noobs and pros can give answers to. Please tell everyone what you think the meaning of life is and why you think so.

The question means nothing. Are you searching for as: a descriptive definition of biological life, a descriptive definition of human life, or a teleological focus of human life? Since I was a damn young teenager I've been answering this question with more questions to the asker.

So like a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy problem?

Well lets have an answer for both, or a way to connect the two.
It's interesting that you end up with more questions as you answer it though.

Because the asker has not clarified what they mean by life
I have multiple interpretations of what life is based on systems of thought
Life might have categories if the answer is not reduced to absurdity

Okay, so what is life? What organic things tend to do that resembles a pattern in time, which is either out of neccessity, contingent, emergent, responsive and which appears to have a meaning.
So human life tends to appear to have a pattern of tendencies towards understanding.

(I was told to do this by Whisper, I'm not sure how coherent this will be.)
I tend to think that the meaning of life has to do with creating value.
I don't think that the actions of others can be really controlled, and most likely shouldn't be, so most of creating value relies on the individual. That being said, reliance on the individual does not mean a lack of interaction with others. To me, it simply means that it relies heavily on an individual choice and determination to seek out opportunities to create value.
What is value then, and how is it created?
I think that value comes from positive experience and thought, whether that is as simple as holding the door for someone, or discovering some deep, life-altering truth, there's a wide range of possibilities. Some of this can be entirely individualistic, such as considering what matters to an one's self, but many more seem to be involving other people in one way or another. I personally tend to find it more fulfilling in conjunction with others, especially in cooperative situations.
As to what value is exactly? I'm not entirely sure, it is hard to pin down simply for me. Perhaps it has to do with consequence? Such as actions or thoughts which have a positive impact later? Or maybe there is a quantifiable way to nail it down, I'm currently unsure.
(I'm not especially active currently due to school, so if there are responses to this, I'll try and get to them as I find time.)

I think the answer is an open ended one. In other words there is not one answer that fits all life. Life decides its own meaning. I can give the meaning of my life, but I cannot give the meaning of any other life because its decides for itself. So the question as posed to me has no answer.

Glad to see you are finally commenting.

So creating of value, such as through labour and art etc?
What is value then, and how is it created?
I think that value comes from positive experience and thought, whether that is as simple as holding the door for someone, or discovering some deep, life-altering truth, there's a wide range of possibilities. I know you are talking about the creation of something of value, but I just want to add that humans are valuing animals and so valuing is what we do, constantly.
From what you are saying, there is a balance between individual and communitarian actions and passions as the meaning of life. So one is always transcendent with the other.
As to what value is exactly? I'm not entirely sure, it is hard to pin down simply for me. Perhaps it has to do with consequence? Such as actions or thoughts which have a positive impact later? Or maybe there is a quantifiable way to nail it down, I'm currently unsure.
So value is pretty much what is lived on the outside, the end results?

Okay so meaning of lives is down to what perspective you are looking at it from, from a relative point of view, but there is no ultimate meaning but at the same time there is a certain amount of determinism.

Excellent question. The word meaning can be confusing as well as the word purpose or anything indicating a necessary reasoning.
It may be more beneficial while tagging the mystical line to speak of the apparent function which life, which in this sense I take to mean experience or consciousness appears to achieve, and that is it appears to achieve information, which here means that which informs, or in other words, expression, that which expresses.
What is expressing in the first is the only which to express. That means in its greatest form, experience appears to be Self Expression, expression of oneself through communicative material known as information or experience, to its own apprehension and which appears and is this known, to itself.
So even though such may not be necessary in this way, and may result in accepted absurdities like butterflies appearing to drink flowers from a proboscis, it is all communication, from the Sole power to the Sole power. An expression of its self from itself to itself by itself.
Self Expression.
Now the other way one can answer is what is the best meaning one can make for their lives or purpose?
In that case, survival and increasing comfortable survival while pursuing what lacks suffering and penalties in pursuit of the best possible one can keep working for and improvements while avoiding harm and consequences.
Survival can in this sense mean continued motion and by extension continued expression and experience or ability to in at least some sense move or be animated which does not necessitate the appearance of bodily movement.
