Slow website speeds/non responsive moments

I am currently investigating the current slow/unresponsive server issues we have been experiencing lately.
I have created a diagnostic real time scanner that collects data continuously for me to isolate what the problem is as at present i don't have enough information. I will update you all when I know what the issue is.
Let me know if and when you experience these issues - please include the time and date of when you experinced it in this topic and then I can compare those times and dates with the logs to try and discern what exactly is slowing the whole server down.
I think I have located the culprit.
When the site was running Buddy press and PhpBB together I used synchronising scripts that allowed content from both sites to communicate with rath other. So when someone posted on Buddypress or PHPBB the posts and comments would display or be posted from either site.
These scripts were still running. Obviously Buddypress no longer exists so phpBB was still trying to communicate.
I deleted these old scripts and Thier cron jobs.
Hopefully that should stop the lag we have been experiencing.
