That seems to be how the Buddha in Mahayana scriptures does it, asking questions which are then answered such as in the PrajnaParamita Sutra.
One day some wacky esoteric style folks said to me after some conversation that a portal has been made available and opened where I can now ask God anything and they will answer. I said I have no questions. I really didn't. I have no interest in knowing anything really. It is all made up junk to me. What could God tell me? Well, anything. Making the conversation pointless.
If God wants me to think something or know something or feel something I will just as I always do.
Do they think anyone Fails? What a strange idea God created for them to be tortured by.
We never fail at being just the sort of beasts doing just the sort of beastly things we are doing.
So what can God tell me? What could God say that I would even believe? That God is a man? That is simply changing the meaning of the term God to something different from my definition in only some small ways. I already know everything. There is no secret. I can answer every question with God.

What will happen in my future? God
What happened in my past? God

People are generally most concerned with these two main things and everything they deem related to that, so they tend to then ask about their partners or jobs or how to make money or whatever else since they connect companionship and wealth to happiness and the living of their lives and when those seem too vacuous they might ask what I will ask you now which will put you to the test, your rational side will want to answer in a politically correct sort of way and may need to be given a separate answer or assessment as compared to the whispered inspiration or automatic sorts.
What is the truth regarding religion, all religions, God, and worship?
Is there a heaven or paradise or judgment and sorting? How do I attain the good and avoid the bad?
So what people generally ask is:
What is the best way to live my whole life day by day,
what should I do to make me happy and keep me happy,
What is the true cosmology or belief system or religion and truth regarding God and Ultimate Reality?
Is there an afterlife? If there is, how do I get the best there and avoid the worst there just as I wished to know regarding this life?
This then provides the person with a full framework, and in the process of answering you may come up withsome really good things. I have the answers as well, but I will see if what you come up with matches mine or not. I always have my fingers crossed that someone will even magically access the same sort of thinking that I have.
