How would you define emanationism?

The definition on Brittanica or whatever was highly disturbing to me though it may be accurate.

Generally the model produced for emanations is one with a central core, from that core extends thick rays that divide further into thinner or more specific multitudes, leading all the way into the elements which make up the world and intermingle into another whole of a sort, leading back into one.

This is usually depicted a Sun with rays, or alight source, or as a pyramid or eye with rays. Each ray getting divided further and also materializing differently.

The disturbing part of any of this was making it out to be the only way, or a necessity, or an accident or flaw or something.

​​​It appears if that is the case as something that must be part of the term emanationism then I have to reject it.

The aspect I am interested in is the notion that each of these things are one thing. That the things spoken of as extensions or children or products are all just controlled by the one power. Puppet tentaclism lol
