This is the home of all topics from the old forum. ontic-philosophy.com was the original incarnation of this site back in 2017/18 which was ran on a myBB platform. A Tree Stump (formely Ontical) saved a backup of the site before taking it down. In 2025 the forum was ressurected into a Buddypress/phpBB site on indieagora.com and then into this new Atrium custom build platform on indieagora.com. I have a little project or mission or quest for anyone who reads this and may feel up to it. Can you recall or otherwise find examples from songs which seem a little strange and memorable, possibly a bit separated out in the songs but not necessarily. Here are some examples with the time stamps for where I think such unique and interesting odd moments may exist in some songs that I can think of:

2:16 to the end of the song, it has multiple weird sections:

2:20 to the end of the song:

0:48 to 3:09

3:00 which also claims that it is a popular spot for people to repeatedly view it:

2:13 to 3:43

Nudity in this one, 3:40 to the end has a great medieval sounding instrument, an ocarina of a certain type:

3:16:

2:19 through to the end, but especially 3:47 and the speech at 3:58:

3:00 to the end and the speech at 3:13 in text:

Those are just some examples, sometimes it is part of the video, sometimes it is in the sounds or instruments, sometimes it is a separated out section of a combination of unusual sections.

Can you think of others like that where you could point out around where the moments start and end?

1:55:

3:43:

Sometimes the whole thing might be like one of these segments:

The unique sounding instrument, almost like digitized steel drums or something:

Here is some more overall unusual stuff that uses strange and mysterious language and terminology and really emphasizes it:

Then there are versions where the odd part is the least good part of something I otherwise really like:

The annoying rap at 2:17 above and 1:53 below:

Thank you so much for those! Please keep othem coming if any come to mind, even anything unrelated to what I mentioned about isolated or separated our parts or sounds or dances that seem special, I really love exploring all these very entertaining things. Also feel free to write in any of the threads you may find, even if it isn't in direct response to anyone or anything written there yet, so long as you might feel it could fit wherever you put it. Thank you again, all your selections from media have been really interesting, and I feel really deprived and searching for things can feel difficult sometimes, I haven't seen good suggestions or recommendations from anyone for a long time, also because younger people with less familiarity seem to be dpamming everywhere and mainly the stuff they bring up just aggravates me!

I fixed one of the links, the one under the "Chairlift" song had repeated, now the correct song, by the same artist, Caroline Polachek, is up there. Here are some artists I've liked over the last few years, and also from before:

Goblin (70s)
Fischer-Z (Fishes Hed)

Army Of Lovers
Prodigy

Foster The People
Muse

Caravan Palace
Jain

alt-J
Glass Animals

Temples
Aldous Harding

Caroline Polachek
Weyes Blood

Laufey
Aurora

Father John Misty
Lord Huron
